I trained in Cardiology at Kanazawa University Hospital, one of the highest volume cardiomyopathy labs in Japan. My Ph.D. thesis was on the subject of genetic background of patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and  I currently has particular interest in  the pathophysiology of inherited cardiomyopathy. I would like to study the genetic pathways that cause inherited cardiomyopathies in humans using zebrafish in an effort to identify novel methods to prevent and treat the diseases.
